The Comfort of Your Miseries

September 1, 2010 in Articles, Self Improvement by Noel

Most people want to go somewhere with their lives but they are not willing to leave the comfort of their miseries. A better life is an unknown life factor for many people. If we do not understand how to achieve a better life, we find ourselves compromising for a less than adequate existence.

You do not have to settle for less if you are willing to take the first step. But, if you do not take the first step to create a better life, you will have to settle for less than you deserve.

One day, I was at the lake walking along the dock and looking at the beautiful boats. All of a sudden, there was a “thud” followed by the straining of a boat’s engine. The vessel’s driver forgot to unlatch his boat from the dock before pulling away.

This incident reminded me of how many, good hearted people, handle their lives and desires. They want more but are not willing to unlatch themselves from their current uncertainty and confusion.

If you really want more out of life, it is time you decide specifically the “results” you choose to obtain, and by all means, take the first step and commit to making it happen.

Anyone can dream about a better life but very few people are willing to take a chance on themselves to create upgrade their life to the next level. This is the reason why so many people think of life as a struggle. Life is a struggle when you want something more but you are stuck to the dock of your current existence. Holding onto a life that is less than what you desire is not security, it is insanity.

Take a chance on living more life. Take a risk on yourself.

I would rather risk and lose, but thereby experience more “livingness”, than never to have risked at all.

As the author and artist, Flora Whittemore shared long ago, “The doors we open and close each day decide the lives we live.”

Are you living the life you want or are you compromising yourself for the comfort of your current confusion? You have a choice, but you will need to take a risk on yourself to do better.

Take a chance on your life and put everything you have into your dream. When we place our full selves into our life purpose, success is inevitable.
